We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Accounting Manager/Controller to join our successful and growing team. In this role, the candidate will oversee the financial operations of the company, provide essential financial reporting and recommendations, ensure accurate and precise accounting procedures and processes are in place, and build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, regulatory agencies and financial institutions.

** This role will be onsite, and located in Colorado's Western Slope region. Full relocation assistance will be provided!

What you will be doing:

  • Manage Corporate Accounting to ensure precise financial reports, including monthly statements, audits and budgets.
  • Oversee A/P for prompt processing of payables and expense reports
  • Supervise A/R and Credit & Collections to ensure accurate billing and timely cash receipts
  • Direct Revenue Accounting/Billing for accurate revenue reporting and commission payments
  • Administer and oversee Payroll for ACA compliance and timely reporting
  • Conduct monthly audits of financial accounts
  • Ensure corporate income tax compliance and reporting, and favorable tax code utilization
  • Administer corporate credit cards and monitor expenditures
  • Establish and maintain accounting system controls
  • Participate in special projects and compile reports

What makes you an ideal candidate:

  • Exceptional leadership experience, and the ability to foster and support a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Experience in transportation or logistics field
  • Degree preferred but not required
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Great Plains, BI Tools and Management Reported is ideal
  • Proficient user of MS Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel
  • Experience in recruiting and hiring qualified individuals
  • Plan and provide necessary training for employees
  • Mentor direct reports to develop management and technical skills
  • Communicate effectively and lead employees to achieve company vision
