Assistant Kitchen Manager Responsibilities:

  • Support the EKM through training and coaching new team members
  • Build respectful relationships with the crew – BOH and FOH
  • Pay close attention to details in a scratch kitchen environment
  • Keep operations running smoothly in a very high-volume environment
  • Manage recipe execution, portion sizes, prep lists, and help with scheduling
  • Display leadership qualities every shift

Assistant Kitchen Manager Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years experience in a full-service Restaurant AKM or leadership role in a casual or upscale-casual environment 
  • Must love a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to maintain standards, exceed goals, and build relationships 
  • Knowledge of completing inventory and ordering
  • Strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards is a must
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on work ethic
