Our client, a mission driven leader in the education space for students who are deaf, blind or deaf-blind, is seeking passionate Orientation and Mobility Specialists for the Blind/Visually Impaired to join their dynamic team. Orientation and Mobility Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct Orientation & Mobility (O&M) services to blind/visually impaired students, ages 3-21, in a variety of educational and community settings including advanced travel with bus systems
  • Provide O&M assessments for students on caseload.
  • Provide instruction and consultation in school districts.
  • Consult with parents, educators, and vision consultants.
  • Responsible for writing progress reports, updating student records, etc.
  • Improve professional competence through participation in staff development activities and other professional growth activities.

Orientation and Mobility Specialist Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with certification in Orientation and Mobility
  • ACVREP (Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals) certification required
  • Ability to travel to several schools in your regional area within a school day
