Multi unit Catering Operation is in need of a Controller to maintain the company’s financial status and well-being through the proper execution of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. The right candidate is a strategic collaborator who will have an active role forecasting the company's financial future and will also be responsible for general ledger management, account reconciliation, financial reporting, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and all monthly, quarterly, and year-end audit preparations and reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure and the ability to maintain each company’s books separately.
  • Supervises the payables, cash receipts, cash disbursements, general ledger functions, and renovation projects and understands the relationship between the multiple due to/from accounts.
  • Produce weekly and monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit/loss statements, weekly flash reports, and accumulative general ledger using QuickBooks.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce expenses and audit all departments for increased revenue.
  • Builds financial infrastructure, policies, and processes to support the company’s growth.
  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close of all financial reports to CPA and CEO.
  • Works with CPA to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Supervises the accounting personnel to ensure proper financial reporting and deadlines are met.
  • Identify and recommend strategy to CEO and COO for continued company growth

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting from a four-year college
  • Extensive experience in developing budgets, legal compliance, tracking budget expenses, accounting, streamlining processes, reporting research results, and above all attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced setting
  • Hospitality Accounting experience is desired
  • Must have strong experience with QuickBooks, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Professional, highly ethical, motivated, and self-directed.
  • Proven track record as a team player and leader.
  • Strong managerial skills including effective communication, coaching, teambuilding and a positive attitude.
