As the Chemical Plant Director, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing safety, production, quality, logistics, maintenance, and financials. Collaborating with departmental managers and the executive team, you'll ensure alignment with budgetary and business plans while upholding company policies and objectives. Additionally, you'll maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, and support franchise owners to facilitate business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production of proprietary liquid components, focusing on cost control, brand protection, safety, compliance, and franchise support.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to enhance production capacity while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate profit targets, cost containment measures, environmental/safety goals, and quality enhancements.
  • Oversee sample testing and QA procedures, ensuring compliance with quality control requirements.
  • Maintain prompt and accurate reporting to the Brand President and Executive team on all plant operations.
  • Monitor environmental changes, refine product quality, and prepare for day shift maintenance activities.
  • Manage overall facility maintenance across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Host cross-functional events and support new franchisee initiatives.
  • Evaluate and suggest modifications to safety, environmental, and quality policies.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Provide suggestions for operational improvements and participate in safety programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical plant operations or manufacturing facility management
  • Knowledge of chemical plant operations, hazardous material handling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EHS, EPA regulations, emergency response, hazardous waste handling, and first aid.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, forecasting, budgeting, negotiating, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in supervising and developing managers, understanding job requirements, and providing necessary training.
  • Ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and work well in a team environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude, equipment troubleshooting abilities, and strong computer skills.
  • 10% travel requirement
