HR Generalist – Food Production

Location: Bronx, NY (must be flexible to travel to Manhattan locations as needed)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00AM–5:00PM

Compensation: $20–$30 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, bilingual HR Generalist – Food Production to support our Kitchen Department at our Distribution Center.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced food production environment and enjoys balancing hands-on administrative execution with HR partnership responsibilities. You will serve as the primary HR contact for kitchen team members while ensuring compliance, organization, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for kitchen team members
  • Maintain employee files and documentation within HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred)
  • Monitor timekeeping, payroll accuracy, scheduling compliance, and attendance
  • Track PTO, probationary periods, and policy adherence
  • Manage FMLA, PFL, and harassment training compliance programs
  • Act as liaison between kitchen staff, management, and HR
  • Support onboarding and new hire coordination, including orientation planning
  • Assist in recruitment efforts for kitchen staffing needs
  • Draft, edit, and distribute departmental communications
  • Identify administrative gaps and implement process improvements
  • Support leadership with documentation of processes and procedures
  • Perform additional administrative and HR duties as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Fluent/native Spanish speaker (required)
  • 1–3+ years of HR and administrative experience
  • Prior food industry experience strongly preferred (restaurant, commissary, food production, or distribution environment)
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local labor compliance
  • Experience using HRIS platforms (ADP preferred)
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communicator who can confidently engage across departments
  • Adaptable, solutions-oriented, and able to pivot as needed
  • Seeking long-term stability and growth
