Building Automation System Engineer Responsibilities:

• Applies knowledge and skill to engineer, design, program, analyze, troubleshoot, optimize, document, and improve building automation systems
• Oversees heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system controls.
• Improves control systems performance through system design, modifications, and upgrades
• Ensures environmental conditions are met
• Partners with the Facilities Operations and Management (FO&M) engineering team, IT staff, and outside contractors

Building Automation System Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree
• 6+ years of experience with Building Automation Systems and controls
  • Preferably a technical school graduate or equivalent experience
• Valid driver's license
• Strong working knowledge of (strongly preferred):
  • Honeywell and Johnson controls
  • Hydronic, steam, chilled water, air handling systems, and terminal units
  • Energy management and efficiency techniques for building HVAC systems
  • Programming and configuring BACnet, Lon, and Modbus controllers and devices
  • BAS system architecture, configurations, and terminology
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and control design drawings and schematics
  • Equipment testing and calibration
  • Resolving fault detection diagnostics, alarms, and analytics
  • Programming of building automation systems
