Sous Chef

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team and support the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operations of our upscale casual restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a strong culinary background, and the ability to lead and motivate a team of culinary professionals to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and execute creative and innovative menus that showcase the best in upscale casual cuisine, using high-quality ingredients and modern culinary techniques.
• Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including staff scheduling, inventory control, ordering, and cost management, ensuring that the kitchen operates within budget and meets financial targets.
• Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that they are performing to the highest standards and adhering to all food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the restaurant provides a seamless and memorable dining experience for guests.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and a passion for excellence.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and ingredients to continually improve the quality of our menu offerings and guest experience.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in an upscale casual restaurant, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Formal culinary training or equivalent experience, with a strong knowledge of classical culinary techniques and modern cooking methods.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of culinary professionals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and management.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
• Strong creativity and innovation skills, with a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
