Job Summary
Our client is a lead supplier of power supplies for the defense, industrial, aircraft, and electric vehicle industries and is seeking an R&D Engineer to join their team. You'll be part of a dynamic team working alongside other engineers responsible for research and product development, technical analysis, program management, and technical presentations of new technology. The role is located in Western North Carolina and relocation will be included.
R&D Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Research and determine new designs' viability and potential of patents to build and test first-generation technically advanced products
- Review circuit design/schematics, layout, EMI reduction, and support root cause analysis
- Evaluate and propose grants to obtain federal funding
- Create proposals for DoD, DoE, and NSF working with the business development team
- Present technical presentations for government agencies, suppliers, and customers
- Develop design requirements to move R&D projects to production
R&D Electrical Engineer Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years in R&D engineering design or
- MS/PhD Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of R&D engineering design
- Experience should include proposal submissions for federal or customers bid process
- Proficient with PCB layout and electrical simulation software
- Must be able to obtain US security clearance
- Patent filings experience a plus
- Experience with military standards a plus
