Job Summary

The Director of Construction will oversee the planning, design, and construction of restaurant projects for a restaurant group. The manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The Director will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure that all project specifications are met and that projects are completed on schedule.

Director of Construction Compensation and Benefits:

Director of Construction Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire construction project lifecycle, including planning, design, construction, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, and ensure that projects are completed within these parameters.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure that all project requirements and specifications are met.
  • Oversee the bidding process, review and select contractors, and negotiate contracts.
  • Ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and that all work is performed in compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality.
  • Communicate with restaurant owners and stakeholders to keep them informed of project status and address any concerns.
  • Manage change orders and resolve any project-related issues that may arise.
  • Ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain project documentation and provide regular reports on project status.

Director of Construction Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and regulations.
  • Experience managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
