We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee and streamline our tax operations at company. This role is vital in leading corporate and indirect tax functions, ensuring compliance, and managing tax records and documentation effectively. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in complex tax preparation, comprehensive review of primary tax returns, and tax planning and will play a crucial role in mentoring our Tax Analysts. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as the Tax Manager will be responsible for translating complex tax laws into understandable requirements and explaining these to non-tax personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing corporate income tax (including federal, Canadian, state, and local) for all of our business entities.
• Managing sales taxes, property taxes, and indirect measures such as state Corporate Activity Tax, Heavy Equipment Rental Tax, and others.
• Leading tax compliance across all company levels and jurisdictions.
• Collaborating with business units to assess tax implications of business initiatives, conducting research, and liaising with external advisors as needed.
• Evaluating and strategizing to minimize the company's tax obligations.
• Resolving operational issues and coordinating with other departments.
• Ensuring timely tax filings and payments and managing tax registrations in new jurisdictions.
• Maintaining accurate tax records and responding to internal and external inquiries, including audits.
• Identifying and addressing opportunities to improve tax efficiency.
• Mentoring and training a team of tax analysts.
• Advising upper management on tax matters and potential regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college.
• At least seven years of related experience, with a minimum of three years in a managerial role or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• CPA certification is preferred.

Compensation:

• Salary range: $140K to $170K depending on experience and education.
• We offer a comprehensive compensation package in addition to the base salary.
