An esteemed law firm in California is actively looking to expand its legal team by recruiting a City Attorney. Must have private firm experience but also have worked with public entities such as city council.

Benefits for the City Attorney:

  • Competitive salary ranging from $140,000 to $210,000 with 5-12 years of experience.
  • Quarterly and annual bonuses based on hours worked, with discretionary bonuses for exceptional performance. 401K and generous PTO.

  • Company-paid life insurance of $50,000, with an optional supplement plan available.

Responsibilities of the City Attorney:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal precedents pertinent to tribal law, environmental law, land use, and water law.
  • Provide advice and counsel to local agencies on a wide range of legal issues, such as CEQA, Housing, General governance, and Land use
  • Represent local agencies in litigation

Qualifications for the City Attorney:

  • Proven experience collaborating with public agencies and the private sector.
  • Background in private law but also experience representing or working with public entities
  • Licensed to practice law in California, J.D. degree from an accredited law school
