A leading California law firm is seeking to grow its law practice with an Associate – Natural Resources Attorney focused on the intersection of tribal law, environmental law, land use, and water law. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of legal and strategic tasks, and you will have the unique opportunity to provide thought leadership at both the state and national levels on these critical issues. 

Natural Resources Attorney Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of legal precedents relevant to tribal law, environmental law, land use, and water law. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of tribal issues, and apply cultural competency when working on matters that intersect with tribal law.
  • Show a commitment to advocating for the rights and interests of indigenous communities.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, disputes, and transactions related to natural resources, including appearances in federal and state courts and before relevant agencies.
  • Collaborate with the tribal, water, and environmental teams to develop and implement strategic plans for clients, leveraging your legal expertise to achieve their goals.

Natural Resources Attorney Qualifications

  • Experience working with public agencies and the private sector.
  • Environmental, land use, and tribal law experience, or a demonstrated interest in tribal law.
  • Litigation, transactional, or regulatory compliance experience is a plus but not required. 
  • Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to, or cultural competency in, tribal issues are encouraged to apply.

Natural Resources Attorney Benefits

  • $110,000 to $150,000k+ with 3-5 Years of Experience
