The Catering and Special Events Executive Chef can think outside of the box while making sure they support the team and grow the business. This role will involve upper management decisions, including initiating and developing quality culinary offerings to ensure the company's business and reputation growth. During your week, you will complete the entire life cycle of an events menu from pre-planning to sale and through onsite execution and post-event follow-up. This includes onsite event management as you show the team what our clients expect and your standards. There is an expectation of managing and producing over $8m in sales for this role. The Executive Chef reports directly to the Co-Owner and Director of Culinary.

Executive Chef Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years in a similar role
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Manage the entire culinary program, from menu development to post-event reviews. Designing new recipes, planning menus, and selecting plate presentations
  • You must be IMPECCABLY organized and extremely computer savvy – MS applications, Google Cloud, various catering/event software, etc.
  • Mandatory utilization of sales and event management software (Total Party Planner, Triple Seat, or similar) in maintaining event workflow and communicating needs to the culinary, sales, and warehouse team members
  • Support the catering team in day-to-day operations, working closely with the sales and culinary team members in overall operations.
  • Organization of pre-event and post-event onsite catering items. Including food station logistics, set-up logistics, etc.
  • Act as the culinary face of the company and all its brands
  • Manages and refines onsite events, focusing on developing strong culinary service, unique menu, and presentation, and developing culinary systems based on trends and client requests
  • Provides guidance and feedback to all members of the team
  • Provides continual positive leadership to motivate and engage all team members
  • Oversees the hiring process of back-of-house team members and provides proper onboarding, training, and performance appraisals
  • Maintain food costs below 25% and labor costs below 33%
