Tool Maker Responsibilities:
- Plan and layout job assignments, sequence machining operations and calculate shrinkage and expansion allowances
- Perform machine operations that require difficult setups and very close tolerances
- Troubleshoot tooling
- Recommend tool modifications and methods
- Setup, program and operate EDM equipment and complex CNC machine tools
- Work with the engineering team to work out tooling and prototype refinements
Tool Maker Qualifications:
- HS Diploma
- 4+ years manual machining experience
- Experience with manual milling including facing, boring, drilling, and tapping & manual lathes including turning, boring, and single-point threading
- Skilled at blueprint reading, basic trigonometry, and other basic math skills
