Master Marine Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair marine engines (outboard and inboard), electrical, HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and other critical systems
• Develop and administer a comprehensive maintenance plan that covers all vessel machinery, systems, and structure in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation and supplemented by best practices unique to the local area
• Ensure all vessels comply with contractual obligations relevant to services provided to the public including safety, schedules, fuel use, efficiency, staffing, data collection and reporting, general quality of service, compliance with applicable law
• Prepare and submit weekly reports to the Director of Engineering on the state of readiness of all vessels
• Supervise employees and/or contractors
• Work as a team player and display a positive attitude when faced with challenges

Master Marine Mechanic Requirements:

• At least five (5) years of experience in the field of marine operations and maintenance, at least three (3) years of which with a single employer is required.
• Attainment of a nationally-recognized Marine Technician certification is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for marine vessels (marine diesel engines, Mercury Outboard, Yanmar engines, ZF transmissions)
• Knowledge of USCG regulations and safe vessel practices
• Ability to operate with little or no supervision, using specialized tools and equipment in confined spaces
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to travel occasionally to other company locations, including travel outside the United States
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is required
