We are looking for an Assistant Director of Maintenance Services for an Ivy League, higher education facility in the Northeast part of the country. Assistant Director of Maintenance Services Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to employees and supervisors while overseeing routine daily and seasonal maintenance, assigned tasks, customer complaints, quality of work and compliance of all the procedures
- Evaluates staffing levels, training, productivity and provides analyses for the facilities and equipment
- Partners with and supports multiple departments to achieve KPI's, performance metrics and adhere to planning and budget
- Directs a quality control process designed to support accountability and the achievement of service standards. Develop and maintain a high level of customer service and relationship management
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Develops types and needs of supplies and equipment for staff and reviews needs as related to renovated and/or new buildings
- Responsible for budget formulation, implementation, interpretation and periodic review of assigned facilities
- Leads and participates in DEI initiatives and trainings to a culture consistent with our 7 Principles (Empathy, Fair, Dependable, Inclusive, Considerate, Vulnerability and Respect)
Assistant Director of Maintenance Services Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, personnel management, budget accountability and skilled in team building
- Preferrably in a college, university or healthcare environment
- Computer literacy with standard business software and maintenance software such as Planon
- Solid background and experience in building and facility management with experience in multiple trades managing union employees and multiple direct reporting supervisors (exempt)
- Experience in managing multiple levels of facilities, services, products, and systems
- Excellent supervisory and interpersonal communications skills; a collaborative mindset
- Ability to relate well to a diverse group of constituents and to build strong relationships within and among those groups within the organization and with external vendors
- Driver’s license required and the ability to be on call after hours for emergencies
