We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Tax to join our team. As the Director of Tax, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and strategy for our company and our clients. You will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations while developing innovative tax solutions to optimize financial outcomes. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Director of Tax Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of tax strategies that minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with tax laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for tax planning.
  • Oversee all tax compliance activities, including the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to resolve complex tax questions and interpret tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as the Product team, to develop and implement tax automation solutions.
  • Streamline tax preparation processes, leverage technology to connect product data to tax software, and automate tax return preparation.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding tax documents and provide clear explanations of tax implications for investments.
  • Select and manage tax vendor software systems. Collaborate with outside tax advisors and tax counsel, as necessary, to ensure effective tax support and guidance.

Director of Tax Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and strategy, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Familiarity with fintech, high-growth tech or Venture Capital companies is a plus.
  • Deep expertise in partnership tax, with a focus on investment entities.
  • Extensive experience in preparing tax returns, including 1065s and Schedules K-1/K-2/K-3, and interpreting tax footnotes.
  • Experience with tax automation and leveraging technology to improve tax processes is preferred.
