Job Summary
A restaurant with an exceptional local reputation for high-caliber food and service is seeking a Sous Chef to continue its pursuit of success. Sous Chef Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Cuisine in various aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu planning, and recipe development, ensuring smooth functioning and culinary excellence.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring high-quality standards and efficient workflow.
- Prepare and cook food with expertise, ensuring accurate measurements, proper techniques, and impeccable presentation.
- Maintain food quality and consistency, contributing to menu development and incorporating seasonal ingredients.
- Oversee kitchen organization, inventory management, and maintenance of equipment for efficient operations.
Sous Chef Qualifications
- At least one year of kitchen management or supervisory experience in an upscale, Chef-driven restaurant.
- Strong length of tenure in previous positions is essential.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work every station in the kitchen including expo.
- Some exposure to ordering, cost control, payroll is preferred.
