Job Summary

Fund Accountant

Our Real Estate/REIT client is looking for a Fund Accountant who will provide accounting for portfolios, create individual funds for clients, prepare accurate and timely values, distributions, yields, and fund accounting output for review, and manage activities associated with fund accounting and domestic equity transactions. This position is based in Ontario, CA and is an in-office role.

Fund Accountant Responsibilities

  • Monitor 100+ mortgages including verifying payments have been made as well as proper allocation of principal, interest, and impounds.
  • Recording of Journal Entries from investment transfers.
  • Follow up and follow through to ensure all disbursements are tracked and presented for approval.
  • Update and verify JV Spreadsheets monthly.
  • Ability to understand Purchase, Refi, and Rehab loans and terms.
  • Property Management: Income and expense related to rental business. Ability to read and assemble a Profit & Loss Statement.

Fund Accountant Requirements

  • Familiarity with a Property Management General Ledger.
  • Good Communication skills in speaking with Property Managers and Joint Venture Partners.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Financial Investments.
  • Knowledge of Sage, QuickBooks, AppFolio, Property Management Software is a plus
  • Managing joint venture accounts: 2 years (preferred)
  • Helpful to have REIT / Real Estate knowledge
  • Helpful to have SEC Audit knowledge
