Job Summary

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the team with great passion, enthusiasm and self-motivation. Qualified candidates must have hospitality or retail experience with 5-7 years of relevant experience. Candidates with an MBA in Accounting are preferred. Must be willing to relocate as the position is not remote and is not in Boston, but is in a major city in the northeast.

Finance Director Responsibilities Include:

·       Manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as maintaining internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and budget and actual expenditures.

·       Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally using business software.

·       Collaborate with stakeholders in drafting, reviewing, and verifying the accuracy of annual budgets.

·       Work with external professional advisors to develop financial and tax strategies. Handling all ERTC requirements and tax credits as needed for the company's betterment.

·       Develop performance measures that support and grow the company’s strategic direction.

·       Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile and ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.

·       Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems and processes.

·       Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across the department.

·       Offer advice to the CEO regarding spending and budget concerns.

·       Manage daily cash position, cash flow and forecasting.

·       Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.

·       Coordinate and act as lead on all audit activities.

·       Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policies and procedures.

·       Prepare and outline complex models into simple terms that others can work with

        Manage and supervise financial accounting, with overall responsibility for hiring, promoting, disciplining and terminating employees.  

 

Finance Director Qualifications

·       Prior finance experience with a successful track record in a senior financial management role for at least 8+ years is essential.

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

·       CPA or MBA a plus.

·       Experience working in a progressive, innovative retail and/or hospitality field is preferred.

·       Exceptional management skills.

·       Proven success in developing and monitoring systems to manage both internal operations and programmatic work that involve high levels of collaboration with other senior leadership.

·       Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills that support and enable sound decision-making in a complex organization.

·       Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

·       Clear written and verbal communication skills are a must. Active listener. Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.

·       Technology savvy with the ability to manage data for financial reporting quickly and effectively.

·       Personal qualities of integrity and credibility.

·       Experience in leading an IT group a plus, but not required.

Salary Range- $120,000-150,000 plus bonus and a very competitive benefits package
