Accounts Payable Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in accounts payable, including supervision or management
• Experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Great Plains is a plus

• Collaborative approach to team and cross-departmental work

Accounts Payable Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the accounts payable process for vendors, contractors, and business partners
• Manage and train AP staff and the external outsourcing vendor
• Continuously assess, execute, and improve policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Resolve vendor inquiries and maintain accurate, up-to-date AP documentation
• Support month-end and quarterly closing activities, including posting accruals and preparing reconciliations
• Provide required documentation and support for audits and tax filings
• Foster a culture of service, precision, and accountability within the AP function
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoice disputes and ensure timely processing
